For some, traditional street art is loud, colourful and disturbing to the urban landscape. But what if the approach was much more delicately considered? Artist NeSpoon’s approach is just that, using intricate lace inspired pattern to adorn the landscape. The beautiful patterns take on typical mediums, in spray paint and stencils, but also aren’t limited to 2D surfaces. Branching out into 3D sculptural forms, the work takes on a new life, connecting physically with the structures of the city, and in turn the lives of those living in the surrounding areas. Traditionally inspired crafts with a modern twist can also been seen at PURO hotel, where a series of curated bell jars have been intricately adorned with lace.
